Check your horse’s worm egg count this spring

adminBlog

Spring is upon us, which means it’s time to do a worm egg count on your horse!

Worm egg counts allow us to decide whether your horse needs to be wormed or not, which is known as strategic worming. Avoiding giving unnecessary products is better for your horse, saves money and helps prevent the build up of resistance to wormers. Imagine a world where we cannot kill worms because they are resistant to all of our worming products!

We recommend worm egg counts in spring, mid summer and the end of the summer. Please bring in a small amount of droppings taken from 3 separate areas in the pile, to our Heddon or South Shields branches. The cost is £9.92 per horse.
